Naples and Sorrento April 2025

I just returned from a wonderful 4 days in Sorrento and 4 days in Naples. Here is my itinerary

4/12-16 Michelangelo Hotel Sorrento. This is 5 minutes walk from Piazza Tasso

We went to O’Parrucchiano La Favorita when they opened at 10 to see if we could reserve for lunch or dinner later in the week. They were able to get us in for lunch. This place is not to be missed. The food is great and the gardens are to die for!

4/13 Guru walks Sorrento food tour with Dashel. Pay what you want tour. Dash was a great guide and gave us history and tips for Sorrento

Dash took us to an inlaid wood factory called L’orafo de legno at Via Dell’ Accedemia, 37. Much less expensive things than in the store in Piazza Tasso

Dash told us the best gelato is at Gelateria David at Via Marziale, 19. So yummy

Dinner at Foreigners Club Via Luigi de Maio, 35. We were able to reserve online and asked for the terrace with views of Mt Vesuvius and the sea. Delicious

4/14 Viator tour of Amalfi Coast. Lots of traffic! Made me happy that we were staying in Sorrento and had lots to do there on the other days.

4/15 Free time in Sorrento to see things we missed and do some gift shopping. Dinner at Leone Rosso by Dash’s recommendation. Via Marziale, 25. Great food At reasonable prices. Not touristy.

4/16 had a private driver with Prestige Limos. Made it so easy to get to Naples and not have to lug our bags to the train station.

Stayed at Star Terminus Hotel next to train station and across from the Metro.  Made it very easy to get to where we wanted to go.

Guru walks Naples food tour. A little sampling of Naples food.

Sansevero Chapel Museum to see the Veiled Christ.

Dinner at E’Vicchiarelle at Piazza Giuseppe Garibaldi. This restaurant is a 5 minute walk from our hotel. The food is delicious and very reasonable. We ended up eating there 3 times, it was great to have a nice place to eat after touring all day.

4/17 Naples Underground tour. Our private driver recommended this, I hadn’t heard about it before. Very interesting to hear about them using it as a bomb shelter at the end of WWII

Snack at the beautiful Gran Cafe Gambrinus, Via Chiaia

Hop on over to Galleria Umberto

Lunch at Sorbillo Pizza

4/18 National Archaeological Museum

Lunch with the locals at Nennetta, Piazza Carita, 22

Definitely a local hang out. Simple food at great prices. Not much English spoken here. The waiters sing Italian pop songs on karaoke

4/19 We ended the trip with a Viator tour of Capri. It was nice to have someone guide us and take care of all the transportation. We had lunch in Anacapri and toured the Augustus Gardens. We ended with a one hour boat tour around the island. A great day.
